First off, the center is situated right near the rim of the San Antonio volcano. Right outside the visitor center, you can stand on the edge of a crater formed by the ancient eruption!

Our favorite part of the visitor center was the earthquake simulator. The ground shakes when you walk on it, simulating what occurs before an eruption.

In July, August, and September, the hours extend to 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
