Getting to Masca Valley in Tenerife involves a scenic yet challenging drive.

The road to Masca is famous for its sharp bends and narrow paths carved into the cliffs, making the journey a bit nerve-racking. It’s often crowded, adding to the adventure/anxiety.

During our drive, one of us always kept an eye ahead, watching for buses. Due to the road’s tight nature, encountering a bus means you’ll need to find a spot to pull over to let it pass.

These spots to pull over are infrequent so you need to prepare for buses – you may need to take a pull-over well before a bus makes it to you.

For those less comfortable with such driving conditions, considering a bus tour or taxi from nearby towns like Santiago del Teide can be a more relaxing option.

Masca Parking

Parking in Masca is quite limited due to the small size of the village and its popularity with tourists.

The main parking area fills up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. It’s wise to arrive early in the day to secure a spot.
