Hi! We’re Kelsea & Nicholas
The creators and writers behind Out of Office Mindset

What You Can Expect from Us
You can expect the details in an easy-to-consume format so you can spend less time planning and more time enjoying life’s moments.
Both of our backgrounds are in Customer Success in Corporate America, and the #1 thing we took away is how to create concise, actionable explanations so people can get what they need effortlessly.
If you are someone who daydreams of exploring the world in the moments between meetings, during long-winded calls that could have been an email, or while making that daily commute, we are writing for YOU.
We want to create a world where everyone can use every day of their time off work to adventure in a new place and return recharged and enriched. That starts with the planning process.
How do we do help?
- We travel full-time and write blog posts filled with helpful tips and tricks about the places we visit. Our entire goal with each post is to make your planning easy.
- We create custom travel plans! Planning isn’t what everyone wants to do when you have free time… and sometimes you don’t have free time. This is where we help! Our passion is crafting personalized itineraries seamlessly incorporating your interests and aspirations for a tailor-made adventure!
Why Trust Us
Honestly, there is a lot of content coming at you and the question of why you should trust us is incredibly important.
We are going to give you 2 main reasons:
1. We travel… a lot βοΈπ
You would think this is a given but unfortunately, it isn’t. There are a lot of websites out there that write about destinations they have never been to.
We only write about places we have personally experienced. And that list changes monthly!

We travel full-time and plan to visit all 7 continents within the next 5 years. We are halfway to that goal and adding countries to the list all the time.
When we travel to an area, we dive deep. We will spend weeks (or months!) in a geographical area learning and experiencing as much as possible.
Why we do this leads me to the second reason we think you should trust us…
2. Details are our Superpower π¦Έπ»ββοΈπ¦ΈπΌββοΈ
We take note of ALL the details when we travel:
- was that bus stop close enough to walk with luggage?
- where do the locals take visitors?
- which area is best for exploring from?
- is that hike suitable for all hikers?
We take note of everything.
As we said: our goal is to make it effortless for you to book that next adventure. That means we sort through what is and is not important.

Additionally, we love to meet people – both locals and other travelers! We learn things from every conversation we have and will follow up on what we learned.
When you read something from us, you can know that it is based on first-hand experience.
Now, sometimes this means we actually don’t recommend the same things you might see on other sites. When this happens, it is usually because we tried that and it did not work as expected.
That is because we are committed to making sure you get the best possible information.
When you set that Out of Office, we want it to be smooth sailing (or hiking, training, driving, eating, etc.) from there.
Our Story – the Medium Version π
We (Kelsea and Nicholas) first crossed paths as students at Georgia Tech (go Jackets π) and blossomed from friendship to love.
During our college years, we discovered a shared passion for exploring the world through travel.
During our school breaks, we enjoyed exploring new towns all over the world. One summer, Kelsea took a 43-day solo trip to Europe.
After graduating from college, we pursued careers in the technology industry and eventually tied the knot.π
During this time, we used every vacation day and long weekend to travel and discover new parts of the world.
These trips added β¨vibrancyβ¨ to our lives that we craved. We joked that we couldn’t go on a trip without knowing where our next one would be or else we would get the “trip-end scaries”.

When we were not traveling, we spent our time researching for our next trip or helping our family and friends research their travels.
In 2021, we felt the urge to explore more. So, we got remote jobs and decided to travel full-time while working remotely. We packed our car and drove through the United States.
Our routine was to work from 8 am to 5 pm EST and then explore the city/town/park we were in.
Doing this brought our souls alive! The world is beautiful. ππ
We enjoyed exploring year-round, so we decided to take the leap to travel full-time and start Out of Office Mindset.
Nowadays, we are still doing US exploration but also go internationally frequently as well!
We want to do our part in helping others cultivate the same passion for travel. We want you to experience the joys of exploration and return refreshed.
If you have any questions or just want to chat, please reach out! We are always here to help.
